The Space

The General Collective is a bright open clean space perfect for hosting your next event. Whether it be a conference for a work event or a hen's party. We are fully equipped to cater for up to 30 guests. Booking fees include 45 chairs, 8 trestles and glassware. Access to a fully equipped kitchen is available. We offer services like catering and workshop options for teambuilding events. The space is very versatile whether you're running a yoga workshop or an art class it is a perfect space for both. Located only a few minutes from the city, it boasts a Gothic front with an industrial interior. Beautiful polished concrete floors with access to an indoor and outdoor loo. Parking is accessible down Clarence St, which is free for two hours or paid parking right next door.

Hire of Space Agreement WORKSHOPS, EVENTS & CLASSES After you sign a space hire agreement, an invoice for 50% of your quoted hire price will be delivered to you through email. The balance is due no later than seven business days before the event. Under $350 in invoices must be paid in full. The General Collective will only be made available during the hours specified in the booking confirmation. The hirer is responsible for any damage caused to the venue during the hire period. The hirer must ensure that the venue is left in a clean and tidy state at the end of the hire period. The hirer must not exceed the maximum capacity of the venue as specified in the booking confirmation Smoking/vaping is not permitted inside the venue. The hirer is responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses or permits required for their event. The hirer must not use any equipment or add any fixtures in the venue without prior permission from the venue hire company. The General Collective reserves the right to terminate the hire agreement at any time if the terms and conditions are not being adhered to. 50% booking fee is required immediately to secure your event date/s. Final payments are required in full 1 week prior to your event date, and are non-refundable if the event is cancelled within 14 days of the hire date. Any cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to the hire date to receive a full refund. The General Collective reserves the right to make changes to the terms and conditions at any time without notice CLEANING An extra $110 cleaning fee will be invoiced if the venue is not left in the same condition it was found in. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that the studio is clean and that all rubbish from the event is disposed of in the designated bins at the conclusion of the event. An exit checklist will be provided to you before the event so the hirer has a fair and reasonable understanding of the responsibilities expected of them. The venue should be notified of any damages or breakages as soon as possible, but no later than the following morning at 8:00 am. SECURITY AND EMERGENCY ACTIONS The Hirer is required to abide by all regulations governing overcrowding, and blocking of passages, hallways, and emergency exit points in public places. During the event, the Hirer is responsible for keeping all exits and exit routes clear and for being aware of the whereabouts of first aid kits. The Hirer assumes full responsibility for all actions taken during the event and for ensuring that proper risk management procedures are followed to prevent any harm or loss to persons.
