The space

Set within the backdrop of the Wombat State Forest in the Central Victorian Highlands, this old shipping container feels like a magic world all on its own, sitting underneath the canopy of a majestic oak tree. The container is considered a hybrid space for workshops, gallery exhibitions or bespoke events. An expansive deck provides the opportunity for outdoor events.

Here, winters are cold and misty. Dramatic winters become lush summers, where verdant landscapes renew themselves with warm abundance, fertility and natural beauty. The garden includes orchards, a cut flower garden, a kitchen garden, a meadow and also forest foraging experiences. The newly renovated homestead is indeed a rural gem. This space possesses a moody, charcoal interior and exterior replete with gallery lighting and a lichen-laden oak branch suspended from the ceiling. There is also a warming potbelly wood heater. A weatherboard workshop has been internally clad in exposed ply and provides a hybrid workshop space and a simple commercial kitchen. Additionally, there is the Nissan hut retreat under conversion. The Nissan Hut is a photography location currently featuring its original domed interior of raw weathered corrugated iron and timber.
