House
The space
Though recently renovated for a more contemporary look, this home still retains its original 1890s American Romanesque charm. Several additions and modifications have occurred throughout its history, but the soaring ceilings, vast rooms and endless natural light remain intact.
The exteriors of this house are equally grand to the its interiors: a meandering front garden path leads up to the three-level brick home. Detailed stonework, a stunning arched window and larger-than-life goddess statues adorn the covered front verandah. Meanwhile, a tiled porch with stain-glass windows enhance the entryway.
Joined by a concertina-style door, it opens to polished pine floors, archways and two large living spaces, creating one immense, contiguous space. Roses are a unique motif that appear throughout the home, including the double-flue fireplaces with detailed plasterwork
