19th Century Converted Church
Church Wonder Converted
Lexton, VIC, Australia
House
The space
Steeped in history and charm, this 19th-century church has been lovingly transformed into a short-term accommodation space which boasts the wonders of yesteryear and the comforts of today.
Over 140 years old, it was built on land donated to the community.
Restored through an ethos of sustainability, the humble red-brick building has been renovated, redesigned, and styled by husband-and-wife duo Annie and Shane Brereton using mostly recycled materials.
Featuring a warming wood heater, vintage clawfoot bathtub, Chesterfield Lounge, and antique décor, Grayling’s Gift combines the glory of the past with elements of pure luxury to create a stay that is contemporary, calming and indulgent.
Taking centre stage at Grayling’s is the king size bed, fitted with premium quality linen bed coverings to provide a luxurious and restful night’s sleep under the church’s original stained glass windows.
